Actress Nathalie Kelley, known for her role in “Dynasty,” has responded to criticism following a tribute she posted for the victims of a terror attack in Bondi. This comes after she had previously voiced support for Palestine and criticized Israel.

Kelley, who hails from Australia and is currently in a relationship with Tomer Kelner, a Jewish hairdresser, shared her grief over the tragic loss of 15 innocent lives during a Jewish Hanukkah event on Sunday.

In her message, she stated, “Regardless of your stance on the actions of the Israeli state (which I personally do not support), the atrocity in Bondi was a despicable and horrifying act.”

She further elaborated, “No one who truly seeks peace, the restoration of Palestinian rights, and justice in the Holy Land (as I do) can condone the alarming surge in antisemitic violence worldwide.”

Despite her intentions, many of her followers criticized her tribute. On Wednesday, Nathalie took to Instagram to clarify her position through an extensive video.

In her video, she emphasized that the issue transcends her personal beliefs and expressed disappointment over the misinterpretations of her message.

‘I have been supporting Palestinian people and the Palestine movement since before I was a teenager,’ she began.

‘When I was eight or nine years old, I watched a documentary on IDF soldiers killing children in the West Bank and to me it was like looking at South Africa all over again.

‘And little Nathalie who grew up as a brown girl in a white country always stuck up for the underdog.’

She went on to say she eventually fell in love with an Israeli man, but her support still lies with Palestine.

‘Fast forward two decades later, I fall in love with an Israeli man but my stance doesn’t change,’ Nathalie continued.

‘There is a clear oppressor, narrative, victim and I can see where the power lies and my support still lies with Palestinian people.

‘But my capacity to have understanding for the other side has grown enormously thanks to my boyfriend and his family.’

She said she had always been ‘against the violent actions of the IDF since before the war.’

Nathalie continued: ‘That brings me to the gun attack in Bondi, I was supposed to have been there… The shock of knowing that, due to some twist of fate, we did not get that flight and went to another city instead.

‘Israel can be an oppressor and Israelis can also be victims. Not one person is your enemy.’

Sajid Akram, 50, and his son Naveed Akram, 24, allegedly opened fire from a footbridge at the Sydney beach on Sunday night, killing 15 people, including 10-year-old girl named Matilda, who were among those attending the Hanukkah celebration.
