DETROIT – Kia unveiled an enticing glimpse of its upcoming next-generation Telluride SUV on Monday, setting the stage for what the company hails as a transformative moment in its design and ambitious goals.

Since its debut in 2019, the first-generation Telluride has become a resounding success for the South Korean automaker, often ranking among the most sought-after vehicles in the U.S. Its popularity, reflected in low inventory levels, underscores its critical role in Kia’s American lineup.

Anticipated to hit U.S. showrooms in the first quarter, the 2027 Telluride promises a bolder, more contemporary aesthetic than its predecessor, with a larger and boxier overall design. This new iteration boasts a prominent front grille flanked by vertical headlamps, while the rear exudes sophistication with a silhouette that draws comparisons to the Range Rover.

In a strategic move, Kia shared images of the Telluride X-Pro model ahead of its grand unveiling at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this month. This event will showcase more trims and detailed features of the revamped three-row midsize SUV.

Since its introduction, the Telluride has enjoyed steady sales growth, with over 444,000 units sold to date. This year alone, sales have climbed by 11% through October, reaffirming its strong market presence, according to Kia.

Sales of the Telluride have increased every year since its launch in 2019, with Kia selling more than 444,000 units in total, according to the company. The vehicle’s sales are up 11% year to date through October, according to Kia.

Kia offers the current Telluride in 10 trim levels, with starting pricing between $36,000 and $54,000.

A new version of the Hyundai Palisade, which is a sibling vehicle to the Kia Telluride, was released earlier this year and starts between $39,000 and $55,000, depending on trim.
