A police officer, accused of killing a TV presenter and his partner, claims he was willing to admit to manslaughter, but his offer was declined by both prosecutors and police.
In court, as Beaumont Lamarre-Condon pled not guilty to the murders of Jesse Baird and Luke Davies, he interrupted the proceedings to verbally attack the investigators.
The 29-year-old said he opposed any orders for a closed court at his trial because he wanted people to know the truth of his case.
Police allege the former senior constable used his service weapon to shoot the couple before attempting to dispose of their bodies.
Suspicions were raised two days later when blood-stained possessions belonging to both men were found in a skip bin in Sydney’s south.
The discovery led police to Baird’s blood-smeared share house, about 30km away in inner-city Paddington.
Lamarre-Condon voluntarily surrendered himself to the authorities two days after the incident and allegedly led them to the remains located on a rural property about 200 kilometers southwest of Sydney.
The senior constable was sacked by NSW Police weeks after being charged.
Having joined the police in 2019, he previously operated a celebrity blog, where he was pictured with many famous figures such as Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, and Harry Styles.
