Supermarket giant Coles is issuing a recall for salads that include spinach due to potential contamination concerns.
The recall affects salads with spinach sold from March 20 until yesterday, March 29.
The complete list of affected products is as follows:
- Coles Spinach 60g, 120g, 280g and 400g
- Coles Family Mix Stir Fry 400g (including South Australia and Northern Territory)
- Coles Spinach and Kale 300g (including South Australia and Northern Territory)
- Coles Spinach and Rocket 60g and 120g
- Coles Beetslaw 320g (including South Australia and Northern Territory)
- Coles 4 Leaf Blend 200g
- Coles 4 Leaf Mix 120g
- Coles Baby Leaf & Beet Blend 150g
- Coles Baby Leaf Blend 300g (including South Australia and Northern Territory)
- Coles Kitchen Green Goddess Salad 300g
- Coles Mixed Leaf Garden Salad 180g (including South Australia and Northern Territory)
- Coles Mediterranean Style Bowl 185g (including South Australia and Northern Territory)
- Coles Beetslaw Bowl 180g
- Coles Sweet Potato Superfood Bowl 180g (including South Australia and Northern Territory)
- Coles Kitchen Roast Pumpkin Fetta & Walnut Salad 265g
- Coles Kitchen Pesto Risoni Salad 190g
- Coles Kitchen Pots Egg And Spinach Pot 100g
“Food products with microbial contamination may cause illness if consumed,” the supermarket said.
“Any customers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.”
E. coli stands for Escherichia coli, which is a type of bacteria.
It can cause cause gastrointestinal illnesses such as diarrhoea.
