Aldi outdoor heater recalled over potential risk of serious injury

An outdoor gas heater sold by Aldi at stores in multiple states and territories has been recalled over a potential safety issue.

A leading supermarket brand is advising customers who bought the Coolabah outdoor area gas heater from May 7 to May 9 to stop using the product right away and return it to any Aldi location for a complete refund.

The risk arises from a potential gas leak that can occur when excess gas escapes from the cylinder compartment, as it is not properly separated from the flame source, which could lead to ignition.

There is a risk of serious injury or death if the gas ignites and causes a fire.

The model number is SKYFSD-DSS6NW and can be found on the metal plate rating label.

The heater was sold at stores in NSW, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria, Western Australia and the ACT.

For further information, call the Aldi recall helpline on 13 25 34.
