An Australian man has died after he disappeared near a ski resort in Japan on Tuesday.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) has confirmed that consular support is being extended to the bereaved family. “We offer our heartfelt condolences to the family during this challenging period,” a spokesperson conveyed through an official statement. Due to privacy obligations, no additional details can be disclosed at this time.

Authorities were alerted to the situation and joined the search for the man, eventually finding him surrounded by a group of four individuals who were administering CPR. Despite their efforts, and the rapid response of emergency services, the man was transported to the hospital where he tragically succumbed to his condition. Remarkably, he bore no visible injuries.

Law enforcement is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the man’s untimely death, seeking to uncover the cause and any contributing factors to this unfortunate incident.

According to a translation of a local media report, the man went missing while skiing with a group of friends between Niseko Moiwa Ski Resort and Niseko Annupuri International Ski Resort in Niseko, Hokkaido.

Police joined the search for man, who found him being given CPR by a group of four.

Emergency services rushed the man, who had no visible injuries, to hopsital where he later died.

Police are currently investigating the cause of the man’s death and the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Local media reports the man had been working at a lodging facility.

It is believed the Sunshine Coast woman went into cardiac arrest after becoming stuck in a chairlift and suspended in the air.
