Authorities executed a search warrant at a storage facility, uncovering a “flashbang” grenade, seven firearms, three gel blasters, 15,000 rounds of live ammunition, various loaded and unloaded magazines, and seven ballistic vests.
The items seized also included 16 electronic stun devices, handcuffs, firearm components such as silencers, tracking devices, knives, electronic gadgets, a security uniform, and realistic silicone masks.
Subsequent search warrants were carried out at three locations: a property on The Avenue in Yagoona, another property on Keswick Street in Georges Hall, and a storage unit in Moorebank.
During these searches, police confiscated a loaded pistol, a loaded revolver, two additional firearms, firearm parts, six magazines, two silencers, mobile phones, and approximately $140,000 in cash.
A 39-year-old man has been charged with 60 offenses, including possession of multiple unregistered firearms and possession of unauthorized and prohibited firearms.
He has been denied bail and is scheduled to appear before Bankstown Local Court today.
