The Myer-owned fashion label, Sass & Bide, is undergoing a transformation, reassuring customers that this isn’t a farewell but rather a “see you soon.” The brand plans to reinvent itself during this period.
According to a statement on the company’s website, “Starting from the end of January 2026, our stores and concessions within MYER will cease operations. Furthermore, by the end of February 2026, our online platform will also be closed.”
While the brand will temporarily step back, they are committed to reimagining the future of Sass & Bide. “We’ll be offline to explore new possibilities for what Sass & Bide can and should be,” the statement explains.
The brand is embracing change with its signature ethos intact. “Although we’re charting a new course, our core identity remains rooted in a free-spirited and distinctly Australian attitude,” the company assures its followers.
Recognizing that the news might catch some off guard, the statement adds, “We understand this transition may come as a surprise.”
True to its nature, Sass & Bide remains unapologetically unconventional. “At Sass & Bide, we’ve never been ones to follow the rules,” the brand confidently declares.
Customers are unable to return or exchange sale items unless faulty, but are still able to refund full-price items within 14 days.
They are still able to use gift cards until the company stops trading.
The label’s management was unable to say exactly when it will relaunch, but told shoppers to stay tuned for an announcement on its social media pages.
Sass & Bide was founded by Sarah-Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton in 1999 and sells women’s clothing and accessories across Australia.
The brand has physical stores in all states except Tasmania, the Northern Territory and the Australian Capital Territory.
Its items are also found in Myer after the department store purchased a 65 per cent share from under David Jones in 2011.
Myer went on to purchase the remaining 35 per cent of the brand, and Clarke and Middleton left the company in 2014.
