A father mourning the loss of his teenage daughter, who died in a crash in the south-west of Western Australia, was held overnight by authorities after allegedly making death threats toward the young driver involved.

Gregory Bragger is also accused of making threats to police if they got in his way.

Bragger today faced court, 10 days after losing his 15-year-old daughter, accused of threatening to kill her boyfriend.

Caitlyn Bragger lost her life when the SUV she was riding in overturned and crashed near Logue Brook Dam, approximately 115 kilometers south of Perth.

Her 16-year-old boyfriend was allegedly behind the wheel.

A court today heard Bragger had repeatedly threatened to kill the unlicensed driver.

“I don’t miss. I will kill him,” he allegedly told police.

“If he’s not dead, he will be in a wheelchair. I promise you.”

The UK ex-military officer is also accused of continually making comments about killing the teen at a fundraiser on Friday night.

He allegedly claimed he was a sniper and told officers he would kill police if they stopped him.

In arguing for bail, Bragger’s lawyer said there was no intention behind the words used and no direct threat made.

The lawyer also told the magistrate Bragger doesn’t know where the teen driver lives.

The court also heard the 47-year-old FIFO worker had turned to alcohol to help him grieve and denies part of the allegations.

He was released on $2000 bail with a surety and is banned from coming within 100 metres of the driver.
