One of the damaged vehicles belonged to 84-year-old Rosslyn Laidlaw, who had just arrived at a nearby hairdresser.

“All of a sudden there was this bang, and then it went bang, bang, bang, bang and the hairdresser said, ‘Oh my god, that’s four cars’,” Laidlaw said.

According to witnesses, the Mazda was observed driving unpredictably on the median strip before it eventually halted on the other side of the road.

Despite the extensive damage, no injuries were reported.
