United States President Donald Trump has nominated Australian‑born conservative commentator Nick Adams to serve as the next US ambassador to Malaysia.
Adams, 40, is best known online for his “alpha male” persona and vocal support for Trump.
He is a self-described “prominent and outspoken critic of illegal immigration, discriminatory practices under the guise of critical race theory, a leading voice against the perils of radical feminism, and a champion of American exceptionalism”.
Despite having no formal diplomatic experience, the administration described him as “an incredible patriot and very successful entrepreneur, whose love of, and devotion to, our great country is an inspiration”.

Trump confirmed Adams’ appointment in a post on his Truth Social account.

“Nick is a renowned bestselling author, speaker, and commentator. After graduating from the University of Sydney, he has dedicated his life to promoting the ideals of American greatness,” Trump stated.

Who is Nick Adams?

Born Nicholas Adamopoulos, Adams was elected to Sydney’s Ashfield council (now part of Inner West Council) in 2004 and became Australia’s youngest deputy mayor the following year.
He resigned in 2012 and later moved to the US, becoming a citizen in 2021.
During his time on the Ashfield council, Adams’ involvement attracted several controversies, including a standoff with local media that led to threats of suspension from the Liberal Party.
In 2016, Adams founded the nonprofit Foundation for Liberty and American Greatness (FLAG), which focuses on teaching conservative values to children.
Adams’ appointment is yet to be confirmed by the US Senate.
