According to 9News, the boy’s siblings and father were passengers in the car that traveled on a gravel road in Mount Helena, located approximately 40 kilometers east of Perth, around 4pm (6pm AEST) the previous day.
The child suffered serious injuries and was taken to a nearby home, where he was met by emergency services.Â
St John Ambulance swiftly transported him to the hospital, but unfortunately, his life couldn’t be saved. This morning, the police commissioner was questioned regarding whether the incident is being considered suspicious.
Police Commissioner Col Blanch said it was a “terrible, terribly sad story”.
Asked whether the death was so suspicious he said it was too early to tell for certain.
“I don’t believe so [based on] early indications but let’s keep an open mind,” he said.
