Fans have turned against Keith Urban following news of his separation from his wife of 19 years, Nicole Kidman. The 57-year-old New Zealand-born singer received an overwhelming number of comments on his Instagram, with many admirers urging him to reconcile with his 58-year-old actress wife. His recent posts have been inundated with fans expressing their sorrow over the couple’s split.

‘Are you crazy? Nicole is a total babe. You should feel fortunate to have such a stunning and legendary A-lister,’ someone commented. Another person wrote, ‘I’m sorry, but Keith was never the right husband for me; Nicole shed tears over him on multiple occasions. Equating her films with their actual lives is ludicrous. Nicole, I’m cheering for you.’ Another fan added, ‘Try and work it out. The grass isn’t greener on the other side. This will significantly impact your kids.’

‘Sorry, you lost the most wonderful thing to ever happen to you,’ one individual remarked. ‘Work on your marriage!!! You shouldn’t give up. You have children!!!’ another urged. ‘Go back to your wife and work things out! Marriage is tough! I’ve been married for 55 years! Nothing justifies ending your marriage! Your daughters will never view you the same way!’ a fan wrote. ‘Pleaseeee don’t leave your wife and dismantle your family,’ pleaded another, while someone else commented, ‘Please save your family.’

‘Nicole saved your life, and this is your way of repaying her?’ an admirer questioned, with another adding, ‘Don’t give up on your marriage. 19 years is something to be celebrated!’ Meanwhile, others offered supportive messages, with several standing by the country singer. ‘Keep on keeping on Keith. You’re a fantastic performer,’ one person praised, while another stated, ‘Follow your heart! Don’t let others tell you what to do!’ Another fan added, ‘Sending love to you and Nicole during this challenging time.’

The news follows reports that Urban could receive more than $17 million due to their surprising separation, thanks to a prenuptial agreement tied to his sobriety. Radar Online reports that Keith signed a deal with Nicole before their 2006 wedding, granting him $900,000 for each year of marriage. However, the agreement includes a ‘Cocaine Clause,’ allowing him the money only if he remained free from drugs and alcohol throughout their marriage. Over their 19-year union, the former power couple built an extensive property portfolio worth an estimated $282 million.

Urban has consistently been open about his earlier battles with addiction. In a 2010 interview with Oprah Winfrey, he recounted how Nicole facilitated an intervention just months into their marriage. ‘She decided to initiate this intervention in the most loving way. The love in that room at the time was perfect. I felt like, “Put the cuffs on, let’s go”,’ he shared. This intervention, he said, was pivotal in saving his life and marked the beginning of his ongoing journey toward sobriety—with Kidman supporting him every step of the way.

The couple, who have daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, have been living apart since early summer. Urban moved out of their Nashville mansion while on a music tour, while Kidman stayed behind with the kids and juggled a busy filming schedule in London, renting a lavish mansion for $87,000 a month while shooting the Practical Magic sequel.

Sources say the split grew more noticeable after the death of Nicole’s mother in September 2024: ‘It’s like they both went their separate ways,’ an insider told Woman’s Day . Their last public appearance together, at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 match in June, hinted at tension.

Despite the split, sources suggest a reunion is still possible – though their busy schedules keep them apart. Urban continues to tour, while Nicole balances family life with her filming commitments.
