Police were called to the Cleanaway Coolaroo Material Recovery Facility in the Melbourne's north this morning.
A man has been killed in a workplace accident at a Melbourne recycling plant.

Earlier today, authorities were summoned to the Cleanaway Coolaroo Material Recovery Facility located in the northern part of the city.

The deceased individual has yet to be officially identified, and law enforcement does not suspect any foul play in the case.

The incident is currently under investigation by WorkSafe.

“Officers will compile a report for the coroner,” a police representative stated in an announcement.

A spokesperson for Cleanaway expressed that the team is “deeply saddened by the tragic loss” that occurred today.

”Our main focus is on supporting those affected by this event, particularly the family, colleagues, and our onsite workers,” the spokesperson added.

“We are working closely with authorities to investigate the incident.

“It would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.”
