Recently, the FBI released a series of images that might shed light on the mysterious disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the mother of prominent NBC News Today co-host Savannah Guthrie. These images reveal a person, their identity obscured by a full-face balaclava, seemingly tampering with a surveillance camera at the entrance of Guthrie’s residence.

Shared by FBI Director Kash Patel on his social media account, the collection includes six still photographs and three haunting black-and-white video clips. They capture the masked individual standing on a deserted doorstep under the cloak of night, evoking an unsettling atmosphere.

Nancy Guthrie is believed to have been abducted from her Tucson, Arizona home late on January 31st or in the early hours of February 1st. Her disappearance has sparked an expansive search, gripping the nation with concern.

“The video was retrieved from residual data within backend systems,” Patel explained. He noted that the footage depicts “an armed person seemingly tampering with the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door on the morning she vanished.”

As of now, authorities have yet to identify any suspects or individuals of interest in the case. Investigators had hoped that home security cameras might provide clues about Guthrie’s disappearance, but unfortunately, the doorbell camera was found disconnected early Sunday, adding another layer of mystery to this troubling case.

Investigators had been hopeful that cameras at the home would turn up some evidence about how she went missing but the doorbell camera was disconnected early on Sunday.

And while software data recorded movement at the home minutes later, Nancy Guthrie did not have an active subscription so none of the footage could be recovered, Pima County sheriff Chris Nanos had said.

White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt began a media briefing by saying she and President Donald Trump had just reviewed the newly released imagery.

“The president encourages any American across the country with any knowledge of the suspect to please call the FBI,” she said.
