Police received a call regarding a shooting on Earl Street in Merrylands around 9.20am yesterday.
No one was present in the home at that time, and there were no injuries reported.
Three men, aged 20, 22, and 23, were charged with several offenses related to the shooting incident.
They were refused bail to appear in court today.
At about the same time yesterday, police spotted a Ford Territory allegedly driving erratically before it crashed on Prospect Road in Greystanes.
Two 17-year-old boys who had been in the car were detained by citizens until police arrived and arrested the pair.
Police searched the car and allegedly found and seized jerry cans of fuel and bleach, balaclavas, and a knife.
The teens were charged with a number of offences, including participating in a criminal group.
One of the males was also charged over a separate home invasion in Ermington in February.
They were both refused bail and will appear in court today.
Police continue to investigate whether the Merrylands shooting and the Greystanes crash are linked.
