11-year-old boy critically hurt by hit-and-run driver in Brooklyn

An 11-year-old boy sustained critical injuries in Brooklyn after being hit by a sedan driver who left the scene of the unsettling crash on Monday afternoon, according to police.

The child was in the vicinity of Ave. V and Ocean Parkway in the Gravesend area at about 5:50 p.m. He was struck by a northbound black Acura sedan nearing the intersection with Ave V.

A 25-year-old man was also injured by debris from the crash, cops said.

Emergency services took both the boy and another injured man to Maimonides Medical Center. The boy was reported to be in critical condition, while the man had stable injuries, officials confirmed.

The Acura driver took off after the collision and remained on the loose Monday night, authorities said.

The NYPD’s Highway District Collision Investigation Squad is looking into the incident.
