The Todd River was overflowing after heavy rain fell in Alice Springs last night.
Emergency services had to rescue multiple people this morning after flash flooding cut off residents in Alice Springs following a heavy downpour overnight.

In the wake of heavy rainfall, numerous roads and low-lying causeways have been inundated, leaving some residents stranded and unable to make their usual morning commutes to work or school. The situation has prompted local authorities to issue urgent safety advisories.

Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services issued an emergency warning due to flooding around the Todd River early this morning, but this warning was later downgraded to a watch and act warning.
