Authorities have been probing an alleged home invasion and deadly shooting since December 27, 2022, where 25-year-old Davies-Scott lost his life.

Officials claim that a group of individuals broke into a residence in Heddon Greta, roughly 20 kilometers from Cessnock.

According to police, Davies-Scott was shot and killed in what is believed to be a botched robbery.

A 52-year-old woman was also at the home and suffered minor injuries after trying to fight off the alleged attackers. 

Three men have previously been charged with murder and remain before the courts.

Another woman has been convicted of hindering the investigation.

Today, detectives executed a search warrant at Lambton in Newcastle, where a 45-year-old man was arrested.

A replica pistol, knuckle dusters, prohibited drugs, and a stolen vehicle were all seized in the raid.

The 45-year-old was taken to Waratah Police Station, where he was charged with murder and several firearms offences.

He was refused bail and was expected to appear in Newcastle Local Court today.

Police will allege he was part of a joint criminal enterprise responsible for the 2022 murder.
