A French national will face a Perth court today after being charged with importing 10kg of meth into the country.

The 18-year-old woman flew into Perth airport from Paris, France on April 25.

She was chosen by Australian Border Force officers for a bag inspection, during which they discovered a white crystalline material inside five sealed plastic bags.

Testing allegedly returned a positive result for methamphetamine, with an estimated weight of 10.7kg.

Police allege the woman’s intention was to travel to Sydney with the suitcase. 

The discovery was reported to the Australian Federal Police, who seized the suitcase and her phone.

She has been charged with one count of importing a commercial quantity of drugs.

She previously appeared in Northbridge Magistrates Court on April 26, and was remanded in custody to reappear today.
