A pair of children’s underwear believed to be Sharon Granites’ and a shirt worn by her suspected abductor have been found, police have revealed, as the search for the Alice Springs girl grows increasingly desperate.

A five-year-old girl has been missing since Saturday night after being put to bed around 11 p.m. at a residence in Old Timers Camp, where she and her mother were visiting.

At approximately 11:30 p.m., she was reportedly seen holding hands with Jefferson Lewis. Authorities have confirmed they suspect Lewis led the young girl away from the camp.

According to police, Lewis had previously been under surveillance with an ankle monitor, which is aiding in the investigation.

The search efforts have now expanded beyond state lines, as Western Australian police have reached out to Lewis’s family in Bolga. His wife and children are reportedly cooperating with the investigation.

Detective Malley has urged anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Sharon or Lewis to contact the authorities without delay.
