In the wake of this heartbreaking incident, Shevtsova’s husband, Vitaliy Brokhof, shared a poignant message on social media, expressing gratitude to those who tried to save his wife.
“I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone present in her final moments—the emergency services, first responders, and all who stopped to assist,” Brokhof wrote. “Your care, actions, and humanity mean more than words can convey.”
“Thank you for your care, your actions and your humanity. It means more than I can ever put into words.
“Nadia was the love of my life. She was full of light, strength, and kindness.
“Her last ride was something she loved, and I am grateful to everyone who tried to help her come home.”
A 20-year-old man and a 50-year-old man were also caught in the crash, both left with minor injuries.
The 20-year-old was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
People who were riding with Shevtsova told 9News that one of the riders in the group caused the collision by bumping her bike, which will now form part of the police investigation.
