A man facing charges for allegedly making his wife’s death appear as an accident involving a tractor’s slasher will proceed to trial for murder. His defense raised questions about the experts’ conclusions regarding the cause of her death.
Yadwinder Singh, aged 46, is accused of killing his wife, Amarjit Kaur Sardar, 41, and tampering with her body following an event on their Woodhill farm, located south of Brisbane, in February 2024.
Sardar was found lifeless just two meters from the tractor’s vegetation-cutting tool, with both legs severed. Authorities pronounced her dead at the location.
Speaking outside court, Bale said the prosecution had not provided evidence that Sardar’s death wasn’t an accident.
“It may well be that what the police say is not a tragic accident is a tragic accident,” he said.
“Singh was the one who alerted emergency services, appearing extremely upset. He was administering CPR upon the police’s arrival … the mention of a brick is really just a misleading distraction.”
