Residents of a South Australian community have been forced to lock themselves inside their homes after a brawl broke out on their street.
The clash between two groups erupted on Railway Terrace in Taperoo, 18 kilometres north-west of the Adelaide CBD, at 8.15pm yesterday.

Connor Milne, a local resident, shared with 9News his firsthand account of a disturbance that unfolded near his home.

“I was just trying to unwind with a movie and a glass of wine when suddenly I heard shouting,” Milne recounted.

“Next thing I know, people are running around with rocks and bats,” he added.

Another local, Dan Wake, described the commotion from his perspective, mentioning the loud yelling and chaos outside.

“This is usually a peaceful neighborhood,” remarked Wake. “Take it somewhere else.”

Onlookers in the area were left puzzled by the chaotic scene and the aggressive tactics on display.

“They weren’t actually fighting,” Milne said.

“They were shadow boxing and moving towards each other.”

Residents said the brawl escalated and some even threw rocks.

Paula Steele was caught in the firing line while standing in her front yard.

“Rocks started flying and it flew, one flew past me and one hit me in the shoulder and bounced off,” Steele said.

Two people were arrested, including a Semaphore Park man and a Taperoo man.

They will face court in six weeks time.
