According to the Hengaw Organisation for Human Rights, 26-year-old Erfan Soltani faces the grim possibility of execution as soon as tomorrow. This comes just six days after his arrest at one of Iran’s most notorious detention facilities.
Soltani was reportedly transferred to Ghezel Hesar Prison following his arrest. This facility has been the subject of serious allegations by the Centre for Human Rights in Iran, citing instances of severe violence, torture, and executions.
A family source revealed that Soltani has been handed a death sentence, with the family learning about this devastating news only four days post-detention.
“Authorities have informed the family that the death sentence is final and scheduled for execution on Wednesday,” said Hengaw, with the time difference indicating Thursday AEDT.
The family has been granted a limited opportunity for a final visit before the execution proceeds, according to reports.
Hengaw has raised concerns that Soltani has been denied fundamental rights, including access to legal representation and the ability to mount a defense, which are essential components of due process.

“Save the names of the killers and abusers. They will pay a big price. I have cancelled all meetings with Iranian Officials until the senseless killing of protesters STOPS.
It is unclear what help Trump is proposing to give to protesters in Iran.
Speaking at Andrews Air Force Base, he said the Iranian government needed to show humanity.
“They’ve got a big problem. And I hope they’re not going to be killing people,” he said.
“It would seem to me that they have been badly misbehaving, but that is not confirmed.”
