'Fatal miscalculation': Iran's chilling vow over gas field strike

Iran has vowed to retaliate following what its state media claims was an Israeli attack on the South Pars natural gas field, the planet’s largest gas reserve.

According to reports, facilities linked to the gas field, which Iran shares with Qatar, located near Asaluyeh on Iran’s Gulf coast, were engulfed in flames overnight.

In response, Iran has threatened to target energy installations in other Gulf nations as a form of retribution.

A source from Israel informed CNN that the Asaluyeh facility had been targeted by Israel. Another Israeli representative confirmed that the strike on Iran’s South Pars facility was executed in coordination with the United States.

The Fars news agency, which is connected to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), described these attacks as a shift in “red lines.”

“From this moment, the red lines have shifted. If the enemy believed these attacks would pressure Iran into submission, it has severely misjudged. This move has effectively handed Iran the trump card of ‘retaliation,'” the agency reported.
