Scott McTominay was spotted relaxing by a pool ‘in Ibiza alongside Michael Carrick’ just days after Manchester United’s FA Cup final victory against rivals Manchester City.

McTominay, who started Saturday’s match, limped off the pitch in the third minute of injury time after appearing to suffer an injury to his leg.

The midfielder was replaced by Mason Mount and was also shown a yellow card by referee Andy Madley for appearing to delay the game by throwing a second ball onto the pitch.

The 27-year-old, who has featured in 43 games this season for United across all competitions, returning 10 goals and three assists, was sat by a swimming pool enjoying a well-earned holiday following the Cup final.

During the clip, McTominay appears to be inspecting something on his right leg, sparking fears among some fans over the Scotland international’s fitness for this summer’s European Championships.

Instagram account @benchviews.tv claimed that former Man United interim manager, Carrick, had joined McTominay by the pool, with the Scotland star appearing to show the Middlesbrough boss the injury on his leg.

They added: ‘I hope McT is all good for the euros… seems like the injury from yesterday is still bothering him!’

The pair engaged in conversation while they relaxed at the pool, with McTominay fresh from United’s FA Cup celebrations.

Erik ten Hag’s side sealed a 2-1 victory on Saturday with Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo both scoring in the first half, before Jeremy Doku found the back of the net late on for City.

The result brings Man United’s chaotic season to a close, with the Red Devils clinching their second piece of silverware in consecutive campaigns, while also gaining a berth in the Europa League next season.

Scenes of jubilation erupted on the pitch at full time as Ten Hag and his players paraded the FA Cup to fans inside of Wembley.

The celebrations continued into the evening, with McTominay and United’s players singing and partying on a bus journey to a venue where the club was hosting an afterparty.

McTomiany posed for photos with several team-mates during the event, with the Scotland midfielder being one of several United stars to go on holiday not long after the final.

Casemiro, in fact, appeared to skip the afterparty, instead jetting off on holiday with his family on Saturday evening.

As the players enjoy a brief break before the European Championships begin, with Scotland’s first warm-up game coming on Monday, June 3, against Gibraltar, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his leadership group are set to make several decisions on the future of the club following a season review this week.

They will also make a call on Erik ten Hag’s future as United boss after pressure has been mounting on the Dutch manager this season.

Speaking on his future, Ten Hag was asked by Gary Lineker on whether he had received any updates over his job security.

The Man United manager told the BBC: ‘I don’t know. The only thing I’m doing is preparing my team, developing my team.

‘This is a project for me. When I came in I can say it was a mess. Now we are better. We are not where we want to be.

‘Football is about winning trophies. I want to play the best football, dynamic, attacking football but in the end you have to win games and trophies.

‘That’s the mentality we brought in. This was our one opportunity and we did it. I’m very proud of the players and staff.’
