Keith Urban has taken on a humble new role as he navigates life after parting ways with Nicole Kidman. The country music star, originally from New Zealand, recently graced the stage of a Bahamas-bound cruise ship, performing for an intimate audience of just over 1,000.

The cruise line, known for showcasing top country talents, counts stars like Riley Green, Chris Young, and Lauren Alaina among its regular performers, offering them compensation and accommodation in return for their musical talents.

Despite this unique opportunity, sources suggest that Keith, who is accustomed to performing in much larger venues, wasn’t particularly thrilled about this smaller-scale gig.

“During his marriage to Nicole Kidman, this is the type of job Keith would have likely turned down,” an insider revealed to New Idea magazine.

This development has also fueled speculation about Keith’s financial situation, although he has long been reported to have a net worth exceeding $100 million.

The move has also sparked questions about Keith’s financial position, despite longstanding reports placing his net worth at more than $100million.

Although Keith and Nicole, 58, managed to reach a divorce settlement which did not include him paying any spousal or child support, the split is still estimated to have been very expensive for both parties.

‘When there’s that much money involved in a split, the lawyers don’t come cheap, regardless of the outcome,’ the source said.

The insider added that regardless of how much his new job pays, it helps keep Keith occupied.

‘Cruise ships are not exactly the dream gig, but they pay the bills – and it gives Keith something to focus on. He’s trying to stay busy now that his divorce is finalised,’ they said.

While there are no details of Keith’s pay for performing on the ship, a musician of his stature could easily demand six figures – especially when passenger tickets were priced between $6,700 – $19,000 for a seven-day cruise.

‘He’s putting a bright spin on everything right now, but singing on a cruise ship is a big change from performing at his own sell-out tour last year,’ they said.

‘However, Keith is determined to keep working while he figures out, with his new management team, some exciting plans for the latter part of this year.’

It follows reports that as family and friends rally around Nicole in the wake of her split from Keith, it seems that the country star is leaning into the bachelor life.

According to Woman’s Day, Keith is now living a ‘solitary’ bachelor life in Nashville when he is not spending time with his children – Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15.

The publication claims that Keith has cut out everyone that had to do with his past with Nicole.

‘He’s now living a life that’s been completely purged of everyone to do with his past life,’ the source said.

As part of the divorce, which was finalised in January, Nicole retained the lion’s share of custody of the couple’s kids.

Under the parenting plan, Nicole will spend 306 days a year with her daughters, while Keith will have 59 days.

The last time Keith was seen publicly with his daughters was back in December 2024.
