Drink bottle pulled from Kmart shelves over projectile fears

The Anko two-litre stainless steel drink bottle, once a familiar item in Kmart and Target stores, has been pulled from shelves due to safety concerns.

Both the khaki and black versions of this popular bottle have been recalled over fears related to their safety when containing hot liquids.

According to Product Safety Australia, the threading on the bottle’s lid may shrink when exposed to heat, potentially causing the lid to detach suddenly, posing a projectile hazard.

This malfunction could result in hot liquid spills, increasing the risk of burns, the safety watchdog has warned.

Although the recall notice mentioned that incidents have occurred, there was no confirmation of any injuries reported thus far.

Consumers are urged not to use the bottle with hot liquids and to return the product to the store for a refund.
