A Queensland man has been charged after allegedly assaulting a crew member on a plane at Perth Airport.
The 59-year-old is alleged to have refused a crew member’s instruction to take his seat as a flight to Brisbane was preparing to take off on July 14.
The passenger allegedly wanted to use the bathroom.
He supposedly pushed the crew member, leading to the incident being reported to the flight captain, who asked for the man’s removal from the flight.
Subsequently, the man was met by officers from the Australian Federal Police, who ultimately removed him from the plane.
He was charged with one count of assaulting a crew member.
In Western Australia, the crime carries a maximum sentence of 14 years’ imprisonment.
The man is scheduled to appear before Perth Magistrates Court today.
