Melbourne’s Lord Mayor has described a poster of the accused Bondi shooter in the style of a popular street artist as “just sick”.
A picture of alleged gunman Naveed Akram with the caption “Aussie” has been plastered in multiple locations in Melbourne’s CBD.

A new poster, reminiscent of the iconic style of renowned street artist Peter Drew’s “Aussie” series, has emerged throughout the city, appearing in over 40 locations.

Executive Council of Australian Jewry president Daniel Aghion told The Age the posters are a “devastating and disrespectful” blow to the victims of the Bondi attack.

“The names of the Bondi attackers will eventually be forgotten,” stated Aghion. “It is the victims, survivors, and those brave individuals who rushed to assist them that will be remembered. They embody the true Australian spirit.”

The tragic event on December 14 resulted in the death of fifteen innocent people and left dozens injured when two gunmen opened fire from a footbridge in Bondi Park.

One of the attackers, Akram, now faces 59 charges related to the incident.
