In an unusual seaside discovery, a prosthetic leg was found on a beach along the NSW Mid North Coast, and authorities are actively searching for its owner.

While enjoying a fishing outing on Sunday afternoon near Scotts Head, Jess White and her fiancé, Chris, stumbled upon the artificial limb. The couple discovered the leg approximately four kilometers from the 4WD access point, where it had been revealed by the retreating tide.

“There were some barnacles attached to it,” White noted. “But not being experts, we’re unsure how long it might have been out there.”

After making the unexpected find, White promptly contacted the police and followed their instructions to turn it over. The incident quickly gained attention when she shared it with a local community group online.

White immediately contacted the police after finding it, then followed their advice to hand it in.
