A California woman, who gained notoriety in 2017 for livestreaming a tragic crash that claimed the life of her younger sister, was fatally shot in a drive-by incident on Tuesday.

Obdulia Sanchez, 26, had been released from prison in September 2019. She was killed this week in a shooting that also left a man injured, according to reports from KSEE.

Witnesses reported hearing approximately 10 gunshots at the time Sanchez was killed, as detailed by KCRA.

Back in 2017, Sanchez, then 18, was broadcasting live on Instagram while driving in Los Banos when she lost control of her vehicle, resulting in a rollover crash. Her 14-year-old sister and a 15-year-old friend were thrown from the car. Tragically, her sister died, and the friend sustained injuries.

The distressing event was captured on video, featuring Sanchez’s emotional pleas: “Jacqueline, please wake up. This is the last thing I wanted to happen… I killed my sister … I don’t care. I killed my sister. I know I’m going to prison, but I don’t care. I’m sorry, baby … rest in peace, sweetie.”

“Jacqueline, please wake up. This is the last thing I wanted to happen… I killed my sister … I don’t care. I killed my sister. I know I’m going to prison, but I don’t care. I’m sorry, baby … rest in peace, sweetie,” Sanchez was heard saying.

Sanchez’s blood alcohol content was 0.106 roughly 90 minutes after the fatal wreck.

Sanchez was convicted of gross vehicular manslaughter, DUI, and child endangerment and sentenced to six years and four months in prison. However, she served less than half of her sentence before getting parole due to good behavior.

A month after her release, Sanchez was arrested for leading Stockton police on a high-speed chase. Police told KCRA that officers tried to pull her over for expired registration but she drove away.

KCRA reported that second shooting victim’s condition is unknown. A motive in Tuesday’s shooting was not disclosed.
