Authorities in Western Australia are currently examining an encounter on a Perth train where an off-duty police officer was involved in restraining a 13-year-old girl.

While the Public Transport Authority has chosen not to release its CCTV footage publicly at this time, a video captured by a friend of the girl is making the rounds on social media.

This mobile phone video shows the off-duty officer holding the 13-year-old on the ground before moving her to a seat. This event reportedly occurred around 4 p.m. on Sunday on the Yanchep Line.

The video captures the girl’s friends shouting, “her head, her head,” referencing a moment when the officer appears to pin the girl to the ground.

According to police statements today, the young girl is alleged to have assaulted the officer by striking him in the face, which happened after he stepped in to address a verbal conflict between two groups.
