This morning, the Duke made an appearance at Whitten Oval in Footscray, where he engaged with Western Bulldogs players, picked up a few sporting tips, and interacted with enthusiastic young fans and members of The Wiggles.
During his visit to the club, Harry also attended a private Movember event. In a candid discussion, he shared insights about his personal journey with therapy and reflected on how becoming a father has influenced his life.
“From a therapy perspective, it’s about wanting to be the best version of yourself for your kids,” Harry stated during a Q&A session, as reported by the Press Association. “I realized there were things from my past I needed to address, so I could fully prepare myself to let go of that past.”
In a touching moment, Harry received Western Bulldogs jerseys emblazoned with the names of his children, Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 4, on the back.
While a small crowd of fans gathered at Whitten Oval hoping to see the prince, he managed to enter and exit discreetly through side and back doors, avoiding the eager gaze of onlookers.
A few dozen fans lined Whitten Oval in the hopes of catching a glimpse of the prince, but he slipped in through a side exit and left through a back door.
“It’s a shame that we didn’t, but his presence was here,” a fan said.
He is expected to fly to Canberra this afternoon for a number of engagements at the Australian War Memorial.
The Prince is also scheduled to attend a reception for Invictus Australia, recognising his strong connection tho the Invictus Games – a leading sporting event for the defence community.
Meghan did not appear at this morning’s engagements and is not believed to be scheduled for public or private events today.
Prince Harry will return to Melbourne tonight ahead of a public appearance with the Duchess on the banks of the Yarra River tomorrow.
The pair are set to take part in a First Nations guided cultural walk along the Yarra, which is tipped to be the best chance for the public to see the couple.
