DONALD Trump has threatened to take away Rosie O’Donnell’s US citizenship, saying the comedian posed a “threat to humanity”.

In a harsh Truth Social post on Saturday, the US President criticized the Hollywood star and mentioned he was giving “serious consideration” to revoking her citizenship.

The Don claimed that arch nemesis O’Donnell was “not in the best interests of our Great Country”.

He said: “She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”

This follows longtime Trump critic O’Donnell’s discussion of her long-standing conflict with Trump and her 2024 relocation to Ireland before Trump’s inauguration, shared in a HuffPost interview this month.

The 63-year-old icon said: “I look at America and I feel overwhelmingly depressed.

“I knew what [the Trump administration] was planning to do, because I read Project 2025.”

She added: “I know what he’s capable of. And I didn’t want to put myself through another four years of him being in charge.

“I picked up and left before the inauguration – because I wasn’t going to take any chances.”

She said that protecting her mental health and caring for her 12-year-old autistic son were part of the reasons for her leaving the US.

The ongoing feud between Trump and O’Donnell dates back to 2006, when she criticized Trump on The View for his handling of the Miss USA controversy.

She mocked his defence of then-titleholder Tara Conner.

The comedian branded Trump a “snake-oil salesman on Little House on the Prairie”, and credited his wealth to his father.

Trump hit back in a People interview – insisting his dad “never gave [him] tons of money”.

He also threatened to sue her, and said of the star: “Rosie will rue the words she said.

“Rosie’s a loser. A real loser.”

The two have traded jabs publicly since then on countless occasions.

Their long-running battle is well documented and has played out in public on several instances.

In one of Trump’s most well-known debate moments from his first presidential campaign run, he slammed O’Donnell on-air – seemingly unprovoked.

Moderator Megyn Kelly asked the candidate during the Republican debate in 2015: “You’ve called women fat pigs, dogs, slobs, disgusting animals…”

Trump interrupted by raising a finger and saying: “Only Rosie O’Donnell.”

In the recent HuffPost interview, O’Donnell said her decision to move was one of “self-preservation”.

She said: “I wasn’t up for this battle. The cost was too high.

“I still believe in the virtue of the fight – I just couldn’t do it personally.”
