More protest activity is expected to disrupt the Sydney CBD today after 12 people were charged yesterday in a demonstration against a major weapons expo.

The protest began early yesterday at Tumbalong Park in Darling Harbour, directly across from the International Convention Centre, where the Indo Pacific International Maritime Exposition is underway for three days.

Throughout the day, a significant police presence was noted, including units from the dog squad, riot squad, and mounted police, as they managed several confrontations with demonstrators.

Authorities charged four individuals—three men, aged 20, 28, and 34, along with a 24-year-old woman—for failing to comply with police directives. All four were granted bail and are awaiting court proceedings.

Additionally, two men, aged 23 and 34, along with a 32-year-old woman, faced charges of obstructing police. They too were bailed and are scheduled to appear in court on December 11.

A separate incident involved a 33-year-old man charged with using offensive language in public. He was also granted bail and is set to appear in court on December 11.

The police presence at Darling Harbour is expected to continue over the next two days until the conclusion of the expo.
