The 33-year-old housemate of missing Queensland teenager Pheobe Bishop has been arrested and charged with unrelated offences.

Authorities reportedly discovered a shortened firearm, ammunition, and two imitation handguns inside a grey Hyundai ix35, along with additional ammunition at a residence in Gin Gin, close to Bundaberg.

Both the house and car had been declared crime scenes for an unrelated matter, Queensland Police say.

Tanika Bromley. (Nine)

Tanika Bromley was arrested yesterday in nearby Milbank.

The individual faces charges of two counts of unauthorized possession of explosives, alongside one count each for possessing or acquiring restricted items and illegal possession of weapons.

She was refused bail and appeared in Bundaberg Magistrates Court today.

She was supported by her partner and another housemate.

The investigation into Pheobe’s disappearance continues and there is no suggestion Bromley is involved in her disappearance.
