Multiple people have been shot in the area of Brown University, police said, as the school issued an active shooter alert and urged students and staff to take shelter during the second day of final exams.

Authorities have yet to disclose any information regarding the conditions of the victims or the specific circumstances surrounding the shooting incident.

Initially, university officials informed students and staff that a suspect had been apprehended. However, they later corrected this, stating that law enforcement was still on the lookout for one or more suspects, according to alerts from Brown University’s emergency notification system.
