A man has been arrested after another man died following a broad daylight stabbing at a home in Melbourne’s south-east.

A CCTV recording has captured a heated argument involving at least four individuals at a residence on Carrera Crescent in Clyde around 3:30 p.m.

In the footage, one man is seen throwing a glass bottle at a resident, who reportedly responded by stabbing the attacker multiple times.

The injured man, bleeding, managed to get into a car parked in the driveway. A friend then attempted to drive him to the hospital.

However, just five minutes into the journey, the car was involved in a collision with another vehicle on Clyde Five Ways Road.

Bystanders rushed to assist the wounded man, who was subsequently airlifted to a hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities have detained a 27-year-old man at a property on Carrera Crescent in connection with the incident.

The Homicide Squad is investigating.

The Clyde stabbing came just hours before another fatal stabbing in Melbourne’s inner north.

A man was rushed to hospital just before 10pm last night after he was found with suspected stab wounds at a home on Napier Street, Fitzroy.

A crime scene has been established and investigations are ongoing.
