A stage invader who has been charged after interrupting Katy Perry’s Sydney concert last night has told 9News he did it for fun.

Johnson Wen, known as “Pyjama Man” online, said he loved the rush of stage crashing.

“I said ‘let me get on stage with you’, then she (Katy Perry) freaked out because she realised I wasn’t a performer,” Wen said.

“I was about to do like extra Fortnite moves but security got there too quick.”

His hobby has taken him across the globe, with stage invasions at events like the Olympics in Paris, the FIFA Women’s World Cup, and the men’s Cricket World Cup final in India.

“I just managed to get up there, but as soon as I was tackled, I got into a lot of trouble,” he recounted about the incident in India, mentioning “the security was far too intense.”

Wen claims he’s not a threat but his actions have exposed serious security flaws.

He was already banned from Olympic Park for storming The Weeknd’s stage when he attended Qudos Bank Arena last night.

The unemployed 25-year-old, who lives at a backpacker’s hostel, has racked up an estimated $20,000 in fines.

Wen has also been banned for 6 months from the Olympic Park precinct.

Wen was apprehended last night after rushing the stage and taken to Auburn police station, where he was charged with entering restricted areas and obstructing someone in the execution of their work or duty.

He said it would be his last time getting in trouble with the law.

“I’m planning to quit forever because you get in way too much trouble for it, especially me, because I’ve done it so many times,” he said.

He was granted bail and is set to appear at Burwood Local Court on June 23.

Wen has also been banned for six months from the Olympic Park precinct.
