A car spinning out of control was recorded on video crashing into a family residence in Sydney, nearly injuring a pet cat and resulting in damage amounting to thousands of dollars.
Several individuals inside a house on Nottinghill Road in Berala reported hearing a “gigantic crash” before observing a car barreling into the property around 5pm yesterday.
“We heard a loud sound and just saw a car crash into our front yard,” resident Cindy He said.
“Very big bang,” resident Peter Guo said.
The car narrowly missed their cat, Wah Wah, who leapt out of the way as the residents raced outside to assess the damage.
Exclusive video obtained by 9News showed the car on its side and wedged into the home.
Emergency services were called to the scene to free the driver, who had become trapped in the wreckage.
The mangled car was then towed from the home.
“We were very shocked. We didn’t expect for anything to happen like this,” He said.
The driver, a 41-year-old woman, was the only person in the car at the time and was taken to hospital.
The driver is accused of leaving a path of destruction on the street, colliding with several cars and houses, and inflicting damage costing thousands of dollars for the homeowners.
Despite the cost, the victims are just glad no one was badly injured.
“No big injury, nobody died. It’s lucky,” Guo said.
