Taika Waititi was as fashionable as ever as he attended the Red, White & Brass film premiere on Friday night.

The New Zealand film director headed off to the Sydney Film Festival solo and made a dapper appearance at the State Theatre.

The 47-year-old opted for a black cotton suit that fit close to his slender physique along with a white T-shirt.

Taika added a gold chain necklace and designer watch, as well as white sneakers for a casual touch.

The film tells the true story of Tongan rugby superfans trick their way to the Rugby World Cup by forming a marching band.

They revealed in the interview the secret behind their successful marriage is making time for one another.

‘That’s the thing about marriage, about relationships, it’s about finding that person that you want to hang out [with] and making sure you actually do that,’ Taika said.

Rita added: ‘It’s about sacrificing certain things and making time for one another, especially when there’s two busy people in the relationship.

‘If you really care about someone you will figure it out.’
