A tragic development has unfolded in Sydney’s north-west, as a second 15-year-old boy faces murder charges connected to a fatal stabbing incident. The unsettling event took place at Bruce Purser Reserve in Rouse Hill, where emergency services were summoned on Monday afternoon.

Upon arrival, paramedics discovered a 17-year-old boy who had been stabbed in the leg. Despite their efforts, they were unable to save him, and he tragically passed away at the scene on Caballo Street.

The first suspect, a 15-year-old boy whose identity is protected due to his age, turned himself in at a police station, accompanied by his parents. He was subsequently charged with murder on Monday night and was held in custody after his court appearance in a children’s court on Tuesday.

In a continuing investigation, police conducted a search at a residence in Rouse Hill around 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday, leading to the arrest of a second 15-year-old boy. He too has been charged with murder, adding a further layer of complexity to this distressing case.

He was remanded in custody after appearing in a children’s court on Tuesday.

About 9.45pm on Tuesday, police searched a home in Rouse Hill and arrested a second 15-year-old boy, who was also charged with murder.

Speaking to media on Monday night, Superintendent Naomi Moore said there didn’t appear to be any links to nearby Rouse Hill High School.

She called the event a “senseless” tragedy.

“It’s a tragic situation. I have 17-year-olds at home, this has impacted the core of the community,” she said.

“It is, I have no other words but it’s just tragedy and it’s senseless.”

The second 15-year-old is due to face a Sydney children’s court on Wednesday. The first boy to be charged is scheduled to return to court on January 23.
