A 17-year-old male has been charged in connection with a collision that severely injured a 51-year-old pedestrian, after which the teenager allegedly tried to escape the scene in Brisbane’s south-east.
At approximately 8:30 pm, authorities were informed about a Holden Commodore that purportedly struck two parked vehicles and a 51-year-old pedestrian on James Street in Beenleigh.
The 17-year-old driver from Yarrabilba was alleged to have attempted to flee on foot before being found a short distance away from the scene.
The 51-year-old pedestrian from Rathdowney sustained serious leg conditions and was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
The teen was charged with one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm.
He will face Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Monday.
