Boy, 14, on bail allegedly stabs 19-year-old on quiet Melbourne street

A teenager is recovering in the hospital following a knife attack during a reported armed robbery incident.

One of the individuals charged was reportedly out on bail when the young victims were allegedly ambushed in Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs.

Video footage captures a brawl erupting on a typically quiet suburban street, which quickly escalates into violence.

During the altercation, a suspect allegedly brandishes a knife, cornering the 19-year-old victim on a porch in Pakenham.

The teenager attempts to defend himself but suffers a slash to his arm. Fortunately, he manages to escape shortly afterward.

Local resident Norman Vellien expressed his disbelief, stating he was “shocked” by the incident.

“We didn’t expect this to happen right next door to our house,” he said.

Police allege the teens pulled up next to the victim and his mate in a stolen Range Rover.

When their demands weren’t met a brawl erupted outside an innocent couple’s house.

The chaos unfolded in broad daylight.

Melodie Vellien said they’re glad their son wasn’t close by.

“Imagine if my son was just outside playing, you know, he would be caught,” she said.

The female allegedly made off with the victim’s bag while he stumbled to a nearby station and was taken to hospital.

The 14-year-old alleged attacker was on bail at the time.

He has been remanded in custody, while a 16-year-old boy and girl have been charged and released back into the community.

“They need to be more penalised for what they’re doing. Because they’re not scared,” Mrs Vellien said.
