A teenager lost his life and three of his family members suffered serious injuries after a collision between two vehicles in Sydney’s south-west.
Authorities responded to a crash involving two cars at the intersection of the Hume Highway and Worth Street in Greenacre at 8:10 pm yesterday.
The accident involved a truck and a hatchback; unfortunately, a 16-year-old boy who was a passenger in the hatchback was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second passenger, believed to be a boy, was treated by paramedics before he was taken to Westmead Children’s Hospital in a critical condition.
The driver of the car, a woman, was also treated by paramedics and taken to the same hospital in a critical condition.
A third passenger, a man, was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital in a stable condition.
The truck driver has been taken to Bankstown Hospital for mandatory testing.
A crime scene has been established, and an investigation into the crash is underway.
The Hume Highway was previously closed, but it has just reopened.
