Two young boys have been fatally stabbed in the area west of Melbourne this evening.

Emergency responders arrived at Marble Drive in Cobblebank just before 8pm, finding a 12-year-old boy with life-threatening injuries.

Authorities reported that CPR was performed on the boy, but he unfortunately passed away at the location.

Shortly after, police were notified of another incident involving a 15-year-old boy found severely wounded nearby on Cobble Street.

The teenager received medical attention but also succumbed to his injuries on the scene.

“The exact details of the events leading to these tragic deaths are still being investigated, but they appear to be related,” stated Victoria Police in an announcement.

“At this time police are treating it as a targeted attack and the investigation remains ongoing.”
