A 12-year-old girl was among three people killed in a horror crash near Kingaroy in Queensland overnight.

Tragedy struck on the Bunya Highway in Taabinga late last night when a collision between two utes resulted in a devastating scene. Around 10 p.m., a Dodge Ram and a Ford Ranger crashed near the intersection of Stuart Valley Drive and Toomey’s Road, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.

The aftermath was particularly grim as the Dodge Ram erupted in flames following the impact. The male driver, who was alone in the vehicle, tragically lost his life at the site of the accident.

In the Ford Ranger, a 44-year-old woman and a 12-year-old girl also succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene, marking a heartbreaking loss for their loved ones.

Another passenger in the Ranger, a 13-year-old girl, was rushed to Kingaroy Hospital in serious condition. Her situation remains stable as she was subsequently airlifted to Queensland Children’s Hospital for further treatment.

This morning, authorities have kept the highway closed at the crash site, implementing diversions to manage the flow of traffic in the area as investigations continue into the cause of this harrowing incident.

A 13-year-old girl who was also a passenger in the Ranger was taken to Kingaroy Hospital in a serious but stable condition and later airlifted to Queensland Children’s Hospital.

The highway remains closed at the location of the crash this morning, with diversions in place.

Anybody who may have been travelling in the area around the time of the crash and who may have information, is urged to contact police.
