The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran has declared its intention to enforce a blockade on the Strait of Hormuz, as per a recent announcement by the organization’s naval forces on Telegram.

The IRGC emphasized, “Any vessel nearing the Strait of Hormuz will be seen as an ally of the enemy, and such vessels will face targeted action.”

On Saturday, Iran reinstated restrictions on ship passage through the strait, following its earlier decision to open the waterway on Friday. The action was justified by Iran due to what it described as “repeated breaches of trust” by the United States in their ceasefire agreement.

According to the British military, two gunboats from Iran’s Revolutionary Guard fired upon a tanker navigating through the Strait of Hormuz, after Iran’s announcement of renewed restrictions on this strategic channel.

Subsequently, the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported that a container ship, located approximately 46 kilometers off the coast of Oman, suffered damage from an “unknown projectile,” which affected several of its containers.
